NP golfers beat Danville

In one of its final tuneups before Thursday's Putnam County meet and Saturday's Western Indiana Conference meet, North Putnam's boys' golf team defeated Danville 168-187 in the rain on Monday at Twin Bridges.

Medalist was Adam Barber of Danville with a 38, while Preston Porter and Jake Holtze each had a 41 to lead North Putnam.

North Putnam (168) -- Jake Holtze 41, Preston Porter 41, Logan Grim 42, Austin Judy 44, Alex Ruble 62, Marcus Burdine 71.

Next match -- North Putnam (8-3) participates in the Putnam County meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Clover Meadows.

* Northview 155, Greencastle 160 -- The Tiger Cubs got a strong round of 35 from medalist Jake Buis, but fell to the Knights on Monday.

"The tough playing conditions with rain and cool temperatures made scoring difficult," Greencastle coach Steve Paquin said. "Jake Buis had an excellent even par 35, making birdies on the last two holes."

Northview (155) -- Clayton Buck 37, Sam Grimes 39, John Brown 39, Cam Weaver 40, Blake Bennett 43

Postponements

* The Western Indiana Conference girls' track meet has been moved from Tuesday to today, still at 5:30 p.m. at Edgewood High School.

* The Greencastle-South Vermillion baseball and softball games originally scheduled for Tuesday have been moved to today at 5:30 p.m. at South Vermillion.

*South Putnam's Tuesday softball game with Northview has been postponed to today at 5:30 p.m.
