Realtors' bingo event aids scholarship fund

Thursday, May 12, 2016

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Putnam County Board of Realtors, I would like to thank everyone that attended our bingo event on Saturday, April 23.

Our devoted bingo players braved the extra traffic at the fairgrounds in hopes of big wins, and not wanting to disappoint our crowd, we gave away thousands in bingo and pull tab prizes. Although no one broke out in a hip hop or tango, there were many excited shouts of "Bingo!" throughout the night.

Proceeds from this event totaled almost $2,500, making the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship Fund the biggest winner of the night.

I would especially like to thank our sponsors for this event: Abstract and Title; Coldwell Banker Putnam Real Estate Center, Collins Evans Real Estate, Daniel Builder, First National Bank, Helmer Appraisal, Home Bank, James Knoebel (realtor), Masten Real Estate Holdings, North Salem State Bank, Ruoff Home Mortgage and F.C. Tucker Schneider Realty.

This event would not be possible without those that helped organize the event, set up tables, chairs and equipment before and after the event, plus those that volunteered their time, talents and resources.

Thank you to our volunteers -- Gina Carter, Tyler Cox, Jennifer Edwards, Lisa Fischer, James Knoebel, Mary Looper, Mary Ann Pearson, George Schneider, Suzy Schneider, Jana Sillery, Chris Skillern, Michelle Skillern and Cecil VanArsdale.

We also appreciate the Greencastle High School National Honor Society members that assisted us with set-up, parking and concessions. Plus those members that came out to play, and everyone that stayed after the event to help us clean up.

Any Putnam County high school senior that wishes to apply for a scholarship in 2017 can go to www.pcfoundation.org. Scholarship winners for 2016 will be announced in May at each school's award program.

Thank you for making our scholarships to Putnam County high school seniors possible.
