Joining more than 300 high school students, agriculture students from Cloverdale High School recently competed in the annual Ag Day hosted by Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley.

Cloverdale teams won three events.

The team of MASON THOMPSON, MACKY WILLIS and KAYLYN COUCH took first prize in engineering.

Fellow Clovers PAXTON JANNINGS, ZACH NICHOLS and KELSEY TUNGETT took the blue ribbon in extemporaneous public speaking

In the drone flying competition, HANNAH LONG, CHAD STEVENS and BLAKE WILLIS were the winners.

"The expo was a great experience for the students," CHS ag teacher Callie Edie said. "It gave them a chance to see different career options and see things you can do within agriculture. The students had a great time and were able to meet other students from the Terre Haute area."

Edie reported that several other students attended and brought home useful information.


SARAH CHEATHAM of Greencastle has graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Cheatham, majoring in athletic training, graduated during UE's 158th commencement, held Saturday, May 7 at the Ford Center in downtown Evansville. During the ceremony, the University awarded 583 degrees.

The University of Evansville is a private, liberal arts-based university with a full-time undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2,495.
