Music on the Square, 21 N. Indiana St.

Ever heard the heavenly sound of a harp and wistfully wondered how you could learn to play one? The answer to that prayer is Harp Day@M2 -- a free day of harp instruction organized by DePauw music alum Alexandra Perdew. Following the national finals of the American Harp Foundation's competitions at DePauw, nine harpists -- including Perdew, her former teacher Harriet Thompson Moore, and Russian prodigy Sasha Boldachev -- will offer instruction in a wide range of harp styles at Music on the Square. You'll go home not just with a song in your heart but able to play several -- a tango, a classical cannon and a gospel tune. No prior music experience is required, and harps will be provided.
