Robert Everett Irwin

Robert Everett Irwin, 79, of Greencastle, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

Born May 18, 1937 in Parke County, he was the son of Elbert and Frances (Thornton) Irwin. He married Juanita Birkemeier on Jan. 26, 1958 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2012.

Mr. Irwin was a cattle farmer and was also a school bus driver for South Putnam Schools for more than 45 years. He was a member of Longbranch Church of Christ.

Survivors include his children, Deanna S. (Gary) Neese of Gosport, Tammy Irwin of Greencastle and David (Terri) Irwin of Spencer; grandchildren Renee (Kelvin) Lovelace, Seth Irwin, Eric Joslin, Wendi (Andrew) O'Hair, Bruce J. McKenzie, Daniele (Stephen Wise) Neese, Evan (Samantha) Neese and Jake Overstreet; great-grandchildren Kannon, Zane, Kingston, Brayten, Ella and Haislee; and siblings Donald (Wilma) Irwin, Elinor Buis, Marjorie Wallace, Dona Joan (L. Dale) Pierce and Carolyn (Don) Flint.

In addition to his parents and loving wife Juanita, he was preceded in death by his daughter Natalie and siblings Francis Gale Irwin and Letha Cofer.

Friends and family will gather from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 in Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, where Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3, with Scott Smith officiating.
