Friday, June 3, 2016

Michael "Mike" F. Wyant, 61, of Cloverdale, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in St Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Mike was born on June 12, 1954, in Frankfort to Nolan and Joann (Jervis) Wyant.

Mike grew up in Whiteland and later moved to Paragon.

He met his wife, Mary, from quoting a job for siding on her house in 1990, and after five years of dating, they were united in marriage on June 10, 1995.

They immediately moved to Benson, Ariz., purchased the Benson Motel, and they operated it until 2004 before returning to Indiana and settling in Cloverdale.

A charismatic man with an energetic soul, Mike naturally carried the traits to be a successful salesman. He sold several different things, including insurance, satellites, siding and real estate. It was even said, "Mike could sell ice cubes to Eskimos."

In addition, he was caring man with a conscious, if someone couldn't afford the product, he would be the first to break the deal.

Mike enjoyed fishing, traveling, coin collecting and spending time with his adored grandson, Connor. Always willing to give the shirt off his back, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Wyant, and an uncle, Tom Jervis.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Lopossa) Bauer Wyant of Cloverdale; mother, Joann Weddle of Paragon; brother Jim Wyant (wife Lois) of Carmel; sisters Margaret Greenup (husband, Dean) of Clarks Hill, and Kathy Stanley (husband, Bill) of Louisiana; stepdaughters, Cathy Bauer Cantu of Floyd's Knobs and Carla Bauer (husband, Brad Suddarth) of Kentucky; grandson Connor Suddarth; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

A celebration of life will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 6 at Faith Baptist Cunot, 11612 S. Ind. 243 in Cloverdale, with visitation held prior from 5 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Ben Lopossa will officiate.

Funeral and cremation arrangements were entrusted to Light Memorial and Funeral Chapel in Monrovia.
