Karen Ruth (Dozier) Furby, 67, Bainbridge, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Karen passed peacefully at The Waters of Greencastle after fighting lung cancer.

Karen was born on Sept. 29, 1948 to Annis Loren (Wood) Dozier and John Melvin Dozier. Annis and John preceded Karen in death.

Karen has two sons, William (Billy) Earl Furby Jr. of Lansing, Mich., and John Eric Furby of Whiteland. She also has two surviving sisters, Barbara Allen and husband Amos of Greencastle and Diane Siebrase and husband Tim of Russellville. She has three grandchildren, Christiana Furby and Quentin and Ethan Oxendine. Karen also has several nieces and nephews.

Karen graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1967.

She was an amazing mother. Every school day morning she would wake up before her sons and make a hot breakfast and practically every day she cooked a full meat, potato and vegetable dinner. Karen rarely missed her sons' school functions or sporting events and often volunteered in their school activities.

Karen last worked and retired from Hendricks County Hospital.

Karen was a giver and a great listener in all of her relationships. Her heart was full of love for her family and friends. Everyone that knew Karen knew her passion in life was her sons.

The celebration of Karen Furby's life will be held through a graveside memorial service at New Winchester Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11. Everyone that knew Karen is welcome.
