Bridge project will close CR 1000 East over I-70

BROAD PARK -- The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a bridge deck overlay project will close Putnam County Road 1000 East over I-70 in Jefferson Township on or after Wednesday, June 15.

The roadway is scheduled to reopen on July 15. The suggested detour utilizes Little Point Road.

The contractor will be overlaying the bridge deck over the interstate.

This project was awarded to CLR Inc. for $1 million. The contract also includes several bridges over I-70 in Putnam, Clay and Vigo counties.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
