Archie W. Neese

Archie W. Neese, 90, of Inverness, Fla., passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, Fla.

He was born in Paragon, Ind., on Nov. 21, 1925 to the late Walter and Mary (Broyer) Neese.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Archie was a supervisor, and employed by General Motors Corp. for 33 years, retiring in 1983.

He arrived in the Inverness, Fla., area in 1995, coming from Cloverdale, and was a Christian by faith.

Archie helped establish, and was a 65-year member of the Cloverdale American Legion Post.

Other memberships include: Past Worshipful Master of the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge F&AM, as well as the Cloverdale Eastern Star; board of directors of the Clay County Rural Telephone Co.; past member of the Cloverdale Methodist Church; and a consultant for a minority tool and dye company in Indianapolis.

He was a little league baseball, basketball and track coach and enjoyed golfing, traveling and fishing.

Archie was a loving husband and dedicated father.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell Neese, and two sisters, Mildred Neese and Maxine Branneman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Colleen Neese, and his son, Greg Neese of Inverness.

Archie's urn will be laid to rest with military honors on Tuesday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
