District 44 State Rep. Jim Baird (R-Greencastle) will be serving on the Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources.

In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.

"As a member of the Agriculture and Natural Resources summer study committee, I will be examining the needs of all properties maintained by the Department of Natural Resources," Rep. Baird said. "I will also be exploring additional long-term funding sources for the President Benjamin Harrison Conservation Trust Fund, which is reserved for projects dedicated to preserving public lands."

Baird said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. The website also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.

Rep. Baird represents House District 44, which includes all of Putnam County and portions of Clay, Morgan, Owen and Parke counties.
