Wednesday, July 6, 2016

The Putnam County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association is seeking tractors and machinery 40 years old or more that are in operating condition and would like to be exhibited at the Putnam County Fair.

The group would also like to have several tractors follow its float display during the Fair Parade.

Don't have a trailer to get your equipment there other than driving it in? Association members are offering free transportation to and from the fair

This year the Putnam County Farm Bureau is making available a 20 x 40-foot tent to house the FFA petting zoo, along with an area for tractor exhibitors and visitors to relax and talk antique tractor and machinery.

To help in preparation for the fair and parade, contact Matthew Chandler at chandlerms76@live.com or Steve Cash at spcash@tds.net via email. Leave your name, contact information and whether or not transportation is needed, and they will get back to you and answer all questions.

The Putnam County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association will plan on having daily parades during the July 22-30 fair as well as enjoying participation in some tractor games. How slow can your tractor really go? We may find out as tractors compete to be the last one across the finish line.

Exhibitors will be responsible to purchase their own gate passes for the fair.
