Thursday, July 7, 2016

COATESVILLE -- Saturday, July 16 marks the fourth annual Cruisin' in Coatesville car show and street fair in which, based on the three previous years, more than 150 classic vehicles are expected to be entered.

And with more than 40 handmade trophies to be presented this year, owners of all makes and models are encouraged to attend. Awards such as Top 25, Fan Favorite, Favorite Car, Favorite Truck and Favorite Motorcycle will be handed out when a panel of judges turn in their results after the three-hour show.

Registration for entrants costs $20 (or $15 with a donation of two or more non-perishable food items) and begins at 9 a.m. with displays and judging to commence at 10 a.m.

The car show itself will essentially take place at the intersection of Milton and Main streets, though the event will spread to many of the neighboring streets as well.

An awards ceremony will take place at 1:45 p.m. and will feature trophies that take months to make, said car show representative Koren Bosley.

"We're going to have a silent auction, food vendors, a bounce house and even Captain America," Bosley said.

In addition to the attractions listed by Bosley, live music will be performed by Pack of Chihuahuas (POCRocks.com) and free cinnamon rolls will be available from Cinnamon Girls Bakery (one per person).

Dash plaques will also be given to the first 80 entrees of the day.

A rain date of Saturday, July 23 has been set.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the revitalization of Coatesville.
