Residential mortgage lender Ruoff Home Mortgage announced that senior loan officer CYNTHIA MATTOX was recognized as the top loan originator for the Greencastle branch in June 2016. The top spot in each branch office is based on the number of closed loans during the month, as compared to their fellow peers.

Mattox joined Ruoff Home Mortgage in late December 2014. She started in the banking/lending industry 20 years ago. She has held the top spot several times, including last month.

The Greencastle office is located at 1360 Indianapolis Road, Suite L.


RE/MAX Cornerstone recently announced that PEGGY MILLER has joined its team.

Miller is well known for demonstrating service to her community and many achievements in the real estate industry. She has sold more than $120 million in real estate throughout her career and received the 5-Star Award in 2013 and 2014. Miller is humbled and very thankful to have been nominated by her customers to win these awards.

When asked about the 5 Star award Miller replied, "All the thanks goes to my devoted customers for trusting me with their business. It's been a real pleasure serving each and every one of them".

Miller brings more than 30 years of experience as a real estate professional, specializing in all areas of real estate including residential and commercial.

RE/MAX Cornerstone is located on the southwest corner of the courthouse square in downtown Greencastle. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


BETH HANSEN has been named to the Grinnell College dean's list for the spring semester 2016.

Hansen is one of 285 students honored for outstanding academic achievement by Grinnell College. To make the dean's list, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

Hansen is the child of Dr. Jeffrey A. Hansen and Mrs. Gayle R. Hansen of Greencastle.


A number of local students are among 749 students named to the dean's list for spring semester 2016 at DePauw University.

The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Students on the list include:
