Auditions for 'Odd Couple' female version set at Playhouse

Director Andrew Ranck will hold two sessions of auditions for the Putnam County Playhouse production of the Neil Simon comedy "The Odd Couple," the female version, in the rehearsal center at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre.

The first session will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 24. The second will be Monday, July 25, at 7 p.m.

The show will be produced Sept. 8-10 and Sept. 14-17.

Characters to be cast include the leads Florence, the neat one; and Olive, the sloppy one. Stage age for the two leads is 30s and 40s.

Also in the cast are the friends of the two women. They include Mickey, Renee, Sylvie and Vera. Stage ages for these actresses are 20s to 40s.

The two Costazuela brothers who live upstairs, speak with Spanish accents, and befriend Olive and Florence are also to be cast. Their stage ages are 30 to 40.

Auditioners will be asked to read from the script.
