Special activities set as city pool season nears Aug. 7 end

Monday, July 18, 2016

All adult lap swimmers are advised that the Greencastle Aquatic Center is offering adult lap swim/water walking times from 11 a.m. to noon on a daily basis, Monday to Saturday, beginning through Saturday, Aug. 6 for $3 per person or free with a season pass.

For more information, persons may contact the Greencastle Aquatic Center at 848-1909.

Meanwhile, all movie fans are reminded that the Greencastle Aquatic Center has scheduled its "Annual 'Dive-In' Movie Night" for Friday, July 29.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and the movie will start at dusk. Because the film rights won't allow the movie to be named in advertising, here's a small clue about the film, "it is a precursor to the latest animated film about a lost fish."

Either way, the movie will be family-friendly. The "Dive-In Movie" is free to any season pass holders and $5 for a non-season pass holder to float around the pool while watching the movie on the big screen.

The Park Department wants to thank Big Bounce Fun House Rentals and Fun Flicks for their help in providing this year's event.

For more information about "Dive-In Movie Night," contact the Greencastle Aquatic Center at 848-1909 or go to the Greencastle Parks & Recreation Department Facebook Page.

Meanwhile, with the start of fall school season fast approaching, the summer pool season is quickly drawing to a close with Sunday, Aug. 7 as the final day.

  • I can't believe the pool is closing so soon since the weather is hotter than normal. Kids could still swim on the weekend!!!
