Several activities are upcoming in the next few weeks regarding the athletic programs of Greencastle schools.

* Middle school students interested in playing football for the GMS Tiger Cubs are encouraged to attend an organizational meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the GMS field (behind the middle school building).

* Greencastle High School is looking for assistant coaches in girls' soccer and boys' soccer. Qualified candidates should contact GHS athletic director Greg Hill at ghill@greencastle.k12.in.us.

* On Aug. 13, the Greencastle Football Parents Club will hold a dinner and silent auction from 6-9 p.m. at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Community Building to raise money for both practice equipment and player protective equipment.

"We anticipate that 150 people from the community will be in attendance," Gary Willliams of the GFPC said. "Our goal is to raise $10,000 from this fundraiser."

The organization was established in 2015 to provide financial support for the equipment needs of the Greencastle Football program and to engage our parents and community members in the football program, Williams said.
