Letha M. Kaelber, 70, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her home.

She was born April 1, 1946 in Putnam County, the daughter of Francis Gibson and Mary Kendall Gibson.

She worked for more than 16 years for Walmart, both at the store and the distribution center before retiring in 2008.

On May 1, 1065 she was united in marriage to Harry Kaelber.

She has been a devoted wife, mom and grandma.

She loved caring for her family and fed any animal, or person, that came around. She currently was caring for chickens, cats, squirrels and had many bird feeders.

She has always had a garden and just canned several quarts of green beans the evening prior to her death. She was always thinking of others.

Letha and Harry have been members of Christ Community Church and they were baptized there together.

Survivors include her dear husband, Harry Kaelber; daughters April Kaelber of Brazil and Sherri Swearingen (Peter Lapoint) of Peru, Ind.; grandchildren Dalton Buchholz, Dayna Buchholz, Garrett Bender, Tamera Proctor and Cody Swearingen and several other grandchildren; great-grandchildren Makita, Matthew and Macaden; one sister, Frances York (Jim) of Mansfield; brothers Jack Gibson, Randy Gibson (Claudia) and Gary Gibson (Joan), all of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Jeanne Gibson and nephew Tyler Gibson.

At her request, cremation will take place with a memorial service to be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at Christ Community Church with Pastor Rich Laskowski officiating.
