Bernice Virginia Smith

Bernice Virginia (Long) Smith, 89, of Roachdale, passed away on July 25, 2016 at Clinton House Health and Rehab of Frankfort.

She was born in Roachdale on Aug. 5, 1926 to George N. and Clara Keck Long.

Bernice was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Pittsboro and the North Salem Pentecostal Church.

For years she was a personal health caregiver in many of the area homes.

She married Rex Frazier, and he passed away in 1954, and then she married Lewis Thomas Smith who passed away in Jan. 28, 1990.

She is survived by a stepdaughter, Jane Hart of Crawfordsville; two foster children, Treva Evans of Georgia and Renee Sims of Colfax; granddaughter, Tiffany Lewellen of Michigantown, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her siblings, Buck, John, Bill, George, Jake, Edith McGuire and Myrtle Davis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 29 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday with burial will be in New Maysville Cemetery.
