* At 6:42 p.m. on Tuesday, Danny C. Shaw, 27, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 300 East in a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice.

Shaw told Deputy Riley Houghton he ran off the road and collided with a fence.

Damage was estimated at less than $1,000.

* At 5:02 a.m. on Tuesday, Michael L. Peacock, 56, Russellville, was eastbound on State Road 236 just west of U.S. 231 in a 2002 Ford Explorer when she hit a deer.

Deputy Houghton estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 6:18 p.m. on Monday, John E. Gregory, 49, North Salem, was eastbound on U.S. 40 near Mount Meridian in a 1999 Mack RB Series dump truck.

Gregory told Deputy Mike Downing he pulled into the left lane to pass two vehicles. He said he looked into his rearview and saw one of the vehicles turn right onto a county road. As he began to merge back into the right lane, Gregory did not notice the 2008 Buick Lucerne driven by Charles E. Kelso, 91, Carmel.

Kelso explained that as he continued eastbound, Gregory's truck attempted to merge into his lane, damaging the driver's side.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 3:12 a.m. on Sunday, Lauren M. Brown, 32, Indianapolis, was westbound on Interstate 70 near the 40-mile marker in a 2015 Ford Focus.

Lauren Brown told Deputy Anthony Brown she was traveling in the left lane when she noticed a vehicle in front of her. She believed the car was in motion but before she knew it, she had rear-ended the other car.

The driver of the other car, Eric M. Stoneking, 28, Plainfield, could not tell Deputy Brown what happened, but his 2016 Ford Focus ended up off the north side of the road.

While talking to Stoneking, Deputy Brown noticed an odor of alcohol. Stoneking tested at .14 on the portable breath test and at .18 on the certified test. He was booked in Putnam County Jail at 5:08 a.m. for driving while intoxicated.

It is unclear from Deputy Brown's accident investigation if Stoneking's car was stopped or merely traveling slowly.

Lauren Brown sustained a brocken hand and a broken rib in the collision.

Both cars were towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

* At 9:20 a.m. on Saturday, Kristen Yonts, 19, Greencastle, was southbound on Heritage Drive just south of Freedom Valley Court in a 2012 GMC Terrain.

Yonts told Lt. Donnie Pettit she is unfamiliar with the area and misjudged the curve. Her vehicle left the west side of the road and entered a ditch, where it hit a power pole and a driveway.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000. The vehicle was towed.

* At 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, Richard L. Smith, 35, Roachdale, was eastbound on County Road 1100 North near County Road 900 East in a 2016 Ford van.
