County Jail

Fourteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

* At 11:21 p.m. Christopher Ryan Skojac, 27, Quincy, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

* At 10:50 p.m. Dylan Tyler Woolen, 21, Eminence, was arrested on a local warrant.

* At 4:36 p.m. Thomas Gordan Schneider, 37, Greencastle, was taken into custody on a writ.

* At 1:43 p.m. Eddie Leon Sheldon, 40, Greenwood, was housed at the jail for pssession of a Schedule II drug.

* At 1:23 a.m. Jeffrey Lee Green, 52, Greencastle, was booked in on a warrant for probation violation and non-support of a child.

Sunday

* At 7:48 p.m. Earl Chester Nicholson, 27, Cloverdale, was lodged at the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

* At 7:04 p.m. Joseph Elmer Bishop, 41, Coatesville, charged with domestic battery.

* At 6:22 p.m. Alyssa Jane Carter, 23, Cloverdale, was arrested for criminal trespassing at Walmart.

* At 10:44 a.m. John Paul Alexander, 19, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for battery causing bodily injury.

Saturday

* At 5:59 p.m. Lauren Raye Rich, 31, Greenwood, was taken into custody on a warrant.

* At 1:42 a.m. Steven Matthew Warf, 33, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for domestic battery.

Friday

* At 6:27 p.m. Jonathan David Posley, 24, Terre Haute, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

* At 4:04 p.m. Lana Lee Morrell, 46, Brazil, was arrested on a local warrant for driving with a suspended license.

* At 12:08 p.m. Zakkary Matthew Osburn, 24, Poland, was charged with inhaling toxic vapors.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers

* At 12:49 a.m. Saturday, Brett T. Hickman, 30, Indianapolis, was arrested on the north side of the Courthouse Square by Officer Matt Huffman.

Hickman was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on charges of public nudity and public intoxication.

Hickman was reportedly discovered urinating on a "police parking only" sign along the north side of the courthouse. Under blood-alcohol content testing, he registered a BAC of .162 percent.

* At 2:12 p.m. Sunday, Edward Nathaniel Willis, 45, Greencastle, was arrested by Officer Kyle Lee for possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Willis was stopped by Officer Lee on Washington Street but reportedly fled the scene before being apprehended in the area behind Moore's Bar.

Three recent citations were issued by city officers:

* At 3:36 p.m. Saturday, Roger Lopez, 46, Cloverdale, was cited by Officer Lee.

Stopped at Locust and Seminary streets, Lopez was ticketed for having an expired license plate (July expiration).

* At 1:01 a.m. Friday, Jacob Scobee, 18, Roachdale, was cited by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stopped on Indianapolis Road, Scobee was ticketed for having no registration plate.

* At 7:05 p.m. Thursday, Daniel Gama Jr., 41, Brownsburg, was cited by Reserve Officer Wallace.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Gama was ticketed for having an expired license plate (June expiration).

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County Sheriff's department personnel responded to one recent property-damage crash.

At 12:35 p.m. on Sunday, Donna Farthing, 63, Cayuga, was westbound on U.S. 36, approaching U.S. 231 in a 2008 Chevrolet HHR. She told Deputy Scott Ducker she crested a hill and saw a semi truck stopped in the road and immediately hit the brakes to avoid a collision.

Robert G. Grubb, 50, Rockville, was also westbound in a 2016 Buick Envision. Grubb said he crested the hill and saw Farthing stopping. He said he hit the brakes but could not avoid the collision, rear-ending Farthing's vehicle.

Grubb's vehicle had to be towed. Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

Capt. Tom Helmer assisted Ducker at the scene.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to two dispatches and three medical assists.

* At 2:43 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to reports of a tree across the roadway at 1122 Avenue B. GFD removed the tree from the roadway and returned to station at 3:08 a.m.

* At 9:38 a.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to reports of a tree that had fallen into nearby power lines, causing smoke to emit. The incident, which occurred near 3200 S. County Road 150 West, was handled by Duke

Energy once GFD notified the company of the situation. GFD returned to station at 10:22 a.m.
