Local dragsters win titles at Crossroads Dragway

TERRE HAUTE -- Another hot weekend at Crossroads Dragway started off with a PINK Ladies Series Race and a Scheid Diesel Friday Night Race.

Denise Joslin of Terre Haute was the winner in the PINK race over two-time winner Leslie Vaughn, also of Terre Haute.

Josh Rogers of Reelsville was the winner of the Scheid Diesel Friday Race, taking out Chad Eaton of Paris, Ill., in the final round.

Saturday's action featured the Junior Dragster Challenge for both Major and Minor categories. In Pro action Cody Alumbaugh of Terre Haute was the winner over Eaton.

Super Pro class winner was Tony Virgilio of Cloverdale over Randy Protz of Vandalia, Ill.

Sportsman class winner was Jeff Vaughn of Terre Haute. Runner-up was Wes Butler of Bement, Ill., and the sole semi-finalist was Terry Hoffman of Monrovia.

Jacob Youngblood, of Rosedale took home another win for the season in High School class.

The Junior Dragster competitors were split into two classes to compete for the coveted Wally trophies.

In the Junior Major division Avon racer Brad Cole took the win away from his sister, Ashley.

Tanner Spires, 2015 defending champion of Clinton, was able to fight his way through the field to win over Brady Snack of Fairmount, Ill.

This weekend at Crossroads Dragway will start off with a $1,000 Gambler Race tonight.

Saturday's feature race will be the Top Gun Super Pro Race. Et Points racing will continue for all classes.
