Authorities say a 58-year-old Putnam County woman was fatally injured in a crash in Parke County Thursday morning.

Jonella K. Wallace, of Roachdale, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Indiana 236, west of Guion in southeastern Parke County.

Guion is located east of Marshall and west of the Russellville turn off of 236.

According to Parke County Sheriff's Department reports, Wallace was eastbound on State Road 236 just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, driving a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina.

For reasons yet unknown, the car reportedly traveled off the left side of the highway and continued approximately 200 feet before striking a tree and rolling over on its top.

  • So sad. God love her. My sympathy to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
