Deputy Mike Downing responded to a pair of Wednesday evening crashes in Floyd Township.

* At 7:52 p.m. Layne M. Lucas, 16, North Salem, was on County Road 675 East in a 2001 Ford Mustang.

Lucas told Deputy Downing that he was out for a joyride with his buddy Aaron T. Clodfelter, 18, Coatesville.

Lucase said he was purposely spinning his wheels in the gravel road, causing the car to swerve from side to side. He then lost control, ran off the road, rolled over and slide down an embankment, coming to rest on the vehicle's top.

Both young men were transported from the scene for complaints of pain to their entire bodies.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000. The car was towed due to disabling damage.

* At 5:44 p.m. Andrew D. Dunn, 19, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 375 East near County Road 375 North in a 2004 Ford Taurus.

Dunn told Deputy Downing that as he was driving, he got into a heated verbal argument with his girlfriend, Tori L. Kiste, 21, Reelsville. He said this distracted him and he ran off the road, hitting a guardrail, ramping up and over it and landing in the creek.

Dunn said he panicked, got Kiste out of the car and called his mother to pick them up, leaving the scene without reporting the crash.

Downing cited Dunn with misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident.

The vehicle was pulled from the creek and towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$2,500.
