Three endowments capture Foundation's Share the Dream effort

The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced the winners of this year's Share the Dream Contest.

The Purdue Club of Putnam County Scholarship, the Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship and the North Putnam Alumni School Support Endowment are this year's winners. A total of $30,843 was raised this year during Share the Dream, the Community Foundation's annual fundraising contest, which started April 1 and ended July 31 this year.

The top three endowments raised $21,095.

The Purdue Club of Putnam County Scholarship raised $10,580, winning an additional $1,500 from the Community Foundation plus $1,000 from 25/7 Consulting, the 2016 Share the Dream sponsor.

The Purdue Club has been awarding scholarships to Putnam County students who wish to attend Purdue University at West Lafayette since 2002. It established the endowment at the Community Foundation at the end of 2003 and plan to build its endowment to $100,000.

The Putnam County Board of Realtors Scholarship raised $6,025 and won an additional $1,000 from the Community Foundation.

Each year a scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from each of the four county high schools. For additional information, visit http://pcfoundation.org/fund_schol_pc_realtors.html.

The North Putnam Alumni School Support Endowment raised $4,490 and won an additional $500 from the Putnam County Community Foundation.

In addition, North Putnam Alumni had the most online contributions on Give Local Day this year, earning them an additional $500 from the Foundation. The Alumni's Endowment is a donor-advised endowment that allows alumni to make a positive impact at their alma mater.

The Putnam County Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1985 to serve donors, award grants, and provide leadership, enriching the quality of life and strengthening community in Putnam County.

The Share the Dream Contest is one of the Community Foundation's many programs supporting local public charities. Give Local Day is an online giving event that takes place on the first Tuesday in May of each year.
