Elmina Phillips, 95, of Coatesville, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Hadley, Ind., on March 4, 1921 the daughter of Fred and Maude Soots Kersey.

She was a 1939 graduate of Amo High School.

She was a homemaker, farm wife and dedicated mother and grandmother.

Elmina was a birthright Quaker and had attended the Coatesville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene (Dave) Miller, Coatesville, Linda West, Coatesville, Ronda (Tom) Heckel, Fillmore, Kathy (Terry) Kunkel, Coatesville, and Teri Gutherie, Coatesville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Naoma Fleetwood, Ky.

She was preceded by her parent, husband Frank Phillips, grandson Kevin Phillips and one sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Pastor Danny Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow in the Coatesville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. The family has requested that in honor of Elmina that everyone wears red which was her favorite color.
