'30,000 Meals in 30 Days' food drive to benefit Putnam Food Pantry

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Providing nutritious meals for children and adults struggling with hunger is the focus of First Financial Bank's "30,000 Meals in 30 Days" food drive in September.

Non-perishable food items and cash donations will be collected Sept. 1-30 at all First Financial banking centers in Indiana and Illinois.

Donation barrels for food items and counter boxes for cash will be accessible to the public in every banking center lobby.

All donations will be distributed in the county in which they are made. Bank employees in each county in the First Financial service area selected a pantry or charitable organization to benefit from the drive.

In Putnam County, the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry will receive the donated food and funds, along with a corporate contribution from First Financial. According to Feeding America, a nationwide organization dedicated to fighting hunger, one in seven Americans struggles to get enough to eat.

First Financial Bank's "30,000 Meals in 30 Days" food drive seeks to help reduce hunger in local communities while raising awareness that hunger is a year-round challenge for many.
