Memorial services have been set for Marion B. (Greenleaf) Smith and Paul D. Smith.

Paul D. Smith (Dave or Bud), 88, died after a long battle with dementia on Aug. 9, 2016 in Denver, Colo.

He was born in Warsaw, Ind., on Jan. 17, 1928 to Paul and Gladys Smith and reared by Russell and Gladys (Smith) Hardman.

Marion, 87, died after a struggle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 also in Denver, Colo.

She was born on May 16, 1928 in Greencastle to Herrick E.H. and L. Blanche Greenleaf.

Marion is survived by her twin, Mildred Hodshire.

Dave is survived by his siblings, Ron Hardman, Jacque Chambers and Sylvia Kiel.

Dave and Marion were married May 21, 1950, in Greencastle and were nearly inseparable ever since; where one was, so was the other one.

They reared five sons, Larry (Marty) Smith of San Diego, Ron (Debbie) Smith of Lima, Ohio, Tim Smith of Denver, Tom Smith of Denver, and Bill (Rebecca) Smith of Aurora, Colo. They were blessed with 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with one due in September.

Marion was a homemaker, choir director and organist for many years.

Dave was a professor of electrical engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

They were devoted lifelong Methodists; at time of passing they were members of Hope United Methodist Church in Denver. They enjoyed their grandchildren, sailing, cycling, traveling together in the summer and accumulating friends wherever they went.

A memorial service will be held in Oak Hill Community Church, 10055 S. State Road 46, Riley, Ind., on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the "H.E.H. Greenleaf Memorial Fund" of DePauw University, P.O. Box 37, Greencastle IN 46135-0037.
