GHS football event raises more than $11,000

To the Editor:

Aug.t 13 was a special evening for Greencastle football. The silent auction hosted by the Greencastle Football Parents Club, and sponsored by Tim Hunter Drywall, was a huge success. Over 125 people were in attendance to try to get the last bid on that special item.

We exceeded our income projection for the event, grossing over $11,000. The players, coaches, trainers and fans -- both present and future -- will benefit from the success of this event. This money will be used for practice and safety equipment, stadium spruce up, HUDL film software, and much, much more.

With more than 125 items, from homemade toffee to a Larry Bird autographed jersey, there was something for everyone to bid on. These items were donated primarily by businesses in Greencastle and Putnam County.
