Public access counselor to speak Sept. 29 at City Hall

Indiana Public Access Counselor Luke Britt will give a presentation on the Open Door Law and the Access to Public Records Act on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Greencastle.

The free public presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at the northeast corner of Locust and Washington streets.

As public access counselor, Britt’s job is to provide advice and assistance concerning Indiana’s Public Access Laws to members of the public, government officials and government employees.

This meeting is an opportunity for elected and appointed officials to learn more about their responsibilities under the law. It is also a chance for community members to learn their rights. There will be time for questions following Britt’s presentation.

This meeting is open to all community members and is sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters and the Banner-Graphic.

The Greencastle League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works at the national, state and local level to build an informed electorate and encourages active participation in government.
