Robert Wade Sims

Robert Wade "Rob" Sims, 27, of Fillmore, passed away due to a tragic kayaking accident.

Born Sept. 30, 1988 in Danville, Ind., he was the son of James R. and Rhonda Dee (Sibbitt) Sims.

Rob worked at Liberty Industries Inc. in Fillmore.

He also did tree trimming and gutter work. He was handy with all motor and transmission repairs.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Rhonda Sims; brothers Brandon (Tiffany) Cox and Cody Sims and significant other Rheylynn Pineda; his grandfather, Robert Sibbitt; niece Korbyn Cox and his significant other, April Sult and her daughter, Alivia.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rita Sibbitt, and Frank and Laura Ann Sims.

A celebration of Rob's life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 at Fillmore Christian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

Graveside services for Rob will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Fillmore Cemetery.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Contributions may be made in memory of Rob to the Make-a-Wish-Foundation.
