Troopers arrest three at Poland after finding marijuana plants

POLAND -- Developing information related to marijuana cultivation on the property near the 7100 block of East Private Road 375 North, Poland, Indiana State Police troopers from the Putnamville Post took action Friday afternoon.

At the site and at two different locations on the property, troopers discovered 14 cultivated marijuana plants. Inside an RV on the property, troopers located three individuals, miscellaneous marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail were:

-- David Lee Schlenker, 25, of Yorktown, the property owner, charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.

-- Jonathan M. Smith, 28, Anderson, charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.

-- Travis O. Matthews, 27, Indianapolis, charged with visiting a common nuisance.

The case was investigated by ISP Sgt. Jared Nicoson and Troopers Jason Kempf and Shilo Raulston. Assisting was the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
