LWV forum set Oct. 12

The Greencastle League of Women Voters, WGRE Radio and the Banner-Graphic are co-sponsoring a Candidates Forum for the Putnam County community.

It is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Watson Forum in the Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media on DePauw’s campus.

The forum also will be broadcast live on WGRE radio and on Greencastle’s local cable TV access Channel 3.

Moderated by a WGRE news reporter, the event will feature a panel of another WGRE reporter, a member of the LWV and a Banner Graphic reporter.

Candidates who have confirmed they will be in attendance at the forum are: Glenda Ritz, Democrat incumbent for Indiana superintendent of public instruction; John Dale (D) and Steven Mayoras (L), candidates for U.S. House, District 4; incumbent Jim Baird (R) and Kim Fidler (D), candidates for Indiana House, District 44; Kevin Rogers (L) and John Crane (R), candidates for Indiana State Senate, District 24; Nancy Wells (D), candidate for Putnam County commissioner, District 3; and incumbent David Brown (R) and Wally Steele (D), candidates for Putnam County coroner.

At the conclusion of the forum audience members will be allowed to ask questions of the candidates.
