UPDATE: Rider identified in fatal motorcycle crash near Stilesville

STILESVILLE -- A motorcyclist was fatally injured Tuesday in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 40, west of Stilesville and just east of the Putnam-Hendricks county line.

The motorcyclist was identified on Wednesday as 39-year-old William Imhausen of Clayton.

The Hendricks County Sheriff's Department reported that the fatal accident occurred just before noon Tuesday.

The collision occurred east of Masten Road as one vehicle was reportedly traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 40 at the time of the crash.

Hendricks County Sheriff's Department Capt. Amanda Goings said Imhausen died at the scene, while three others were transported to the hospital via ambulance.

U.S. 40 remained closed while police investigated the crash, but was opened before 2 p.m. Tuesday.
