Hilary Hahn

Three-time Grammy-winning artist Hilary Hahn will debut at the DePauw University Green Center for the Performing Arts as guest soloist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium.

Hahn will reprise her performance of Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major.

The DePauw School of Music is equally honored to have the ensemble's music director Krzysztof Urbanski conduct the all-Prokofiev program on this Green Guest Artist Series concert.

In the two decades since her professional debut, the 36-year-old Hahn has brought her virtuosity, expansive interpretations and creative repertoire choices to diverse global audiences having performed with almost every leading orchestra in the world.

Now in his sixth season with the ISO, his list of international guest appearances has expanded to include debuts with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic, as well as covering, on short notice, a performance for the German conductor Christoph von Dohnányi with the New York Philharmonic.

The ISO's music director has selected Prokofiev's Symphony No. 1 ("Classical Symphony") and "Suite from Romeo and Juliet" to be performed with the virtuosic Concerto for Violin and Orchestra on Sunday's all-Prokofiev program.

General admission to Green Concerts is $15 in advance and $20 day of the event. Thanks to the generosity of season sponsors Judson and Joyce Green, tickets for seniors, youth and all students are free.
