• At 7:25 p.m. Monday, the accident occurred at State Road 240 and Percy Julian Drive as Kimberly O’Hair, 52, Greencastle, was driving a 2005 Pontiac Sunbird.

O’Hair was southbound and stopped at the four-way stopsign before entering the intersection, Officer Brad Hiatt reported.

However, Donnie Lacks, 48, Goode, Va., did not see the stopsign and failed to stop his 2003 Chevrolet truck, striking the O’Hair car in the driver’s side.

Total damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

Lacks was ticketed for disregarding a traffic control device.

One additional citation was issued by City Police officers.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Repass was cited for 58 mph in 30-mph zone.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to four recent property-damage crashes.

• At 11:39 p.m. on Sunday, Morgan L. Foos, 19, Clinton, was eastbound on County Road 450 North near Edna Collings Covered Bridge in a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Shae Ronald M. Cloud, 19, Clinton, was also eastbound in a 2003 Ford Taurus.

Foos told Deputy Mike Downing she had stopped so westbound traffic could pass through the bridge when her car was struck from behind by Cloud’s car.

Cloud said he applied his brakes but nothing happened. He then swerved left but could not avoid the other vehicle.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 3:39 a.m. on Sunday, Kristine A. Anderson, 43, Fillmore, was leaving the residence at 1 W. CR 840 North in a 1995 Dodge Intrepid.

She told Deputy Downing she and her boyfriend had gotten into a heated argument and she was leaving in a hurry.

As she left, Anderson drove her vehicle into a parked 1982 Chevrolet pickup registered to Traci S. McGaughey, Bainbridge. She then continued down the driveway and ran the car head-on into a utility pole.

Anderson’s car was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

• At 3:13 a.m. on Sunday, Denny V. Berry York, 28, Greencastle, was northbound on County Road 75 West just north of U.S. 40 in a 1997 GMC pickup.

Berry York told Deputy Riley Houghton he ran off the road, hitting a culvert and a utility pole, rolling the vehicle onto its side.

While speaking with Berry York, Houghton smelled an odor of alcohol. Berry York tested at .11 blood-alcohol content on the portable breath test. He was taken to the Putnam County Jail, where he tested at .09 on the certified test.

Berry York was booked in the Putnam County Jail at 4:47 a.m. for operating while intoxicated.

The truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

• At 4:38 a.m. on Monday, Matthew J. Sparrow, 19, Sullivan, Ill., was westbound on Interstate 70 near the 32-mile marker in a 2006 Dodge Ram. Gabriel Usubov, 45, Carthage, Mo., was also westbound in a 2015 Ford F350 pulling a trailer.

Sparrow said he was traveling in the left lane when Usubov’s vehicle crossed into his lane, the trailer colliding with his truck and causing it to roll over. The truck rolled onto the driver’s side in the left lane.

Usubov said he was traveling in the right lane when he felt a “push” in the back of his trailer. He then looked in his mirror and saw the other truck roll over.

Operation Life took Sparrow to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for severe bleeding and an arm injury.

Sparrow’s truck was towed. Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
