City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• 2:44 p.m. Saturday, Jessica Glenn, 31, Cloverdale, was arrested by Officer Josh Smith at State Road 240 and Fillmore Road.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Glenn was held on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.

Glenn was also ticketed by Officer Smith for having no driver’s license when required.

On additional citation was issued recently by city officers.

• 1:05 p.m. Oct. 1, Kenneth Byrd, 19, Brazil, was cited by Capt. Chris Jones.

Stopped on Judson Drive, just north of Indianapolis Road, Byrd was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to eight dispatches, two lift assists and one medical run.

• At 12:43 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 107 W. Hanna St. GFD reset the alarm before returning to station at 12:52 p.m.

• At 6:22 p.m. on Saturday, GFD responded to a motor-vehicle accident in the area of County Road 400 South and County Road 325 West. GFD assisted in the general cleanup of debris from the roadway and reported no issues before returning to station at 6:42 p.m.

• At 12:46 a.m. on Sunday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 1109 S. Indiana St. GFD returned to station at 1:02 a.m. after monitoring the area, finding nothing.

• At 1:34 a.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm 807 S. College Ave. The pull station alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily and GFD subsequently returned to station at 1:41 a.m.

• At 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, GFD assisted an unspecified police force with the cleanup of beer bottles and broken flower pots that had been thrown into the intersection of Indiana and Larrabee streets. GFD returned to station at 1:55 a.m.

• At 2:02 a.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking on the second floor at 412 S. Jackson St. GFD reset the alarm before returning to station at 2:09 a.m.

• At 8:39 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm that was determined to have been set off unnecessarily due to burnt popcorn at 600 N. Jackson St. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 8:55 p.m.

• At 12:07 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD received a good-intent call concerning broken water lines that had flooded the basement of a residence at 902 Illinois St. GFD secured the situation before returning to station at 12:44 a.m.
