County Jail

Eighteen people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

* At 6:27 p.m. Kevin Carl Morphew, 58, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a Marion County warrant.

* At 5:11 p.m. Jonathan Curtis Cope, 25, Greencastle, was arrested on a hold for Clay County.

* At 4:39 p.m. Bambi Lynn Bicknell, 44, Terre Haute, was taken into custody on a warrant for forgery and contempt of court.

* At 3:56 p.m. Richard DuJuan Hugely, 28, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for dealing in marijuana.

* At 12:58 p.m. Joseph Eugene Day, 56, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.

* At 12:52 p.m. Gerald Daniel Hardwick, 33, Pittsboro, was lodged at the jail on a hold for a court appearance.

* At 12:17 p.m. Glen Thomas Moxley, 45, Bainbridge, was arrested on a warrant for resisting law enforcement, criminal mischief and possession of methamphetamine.

* At 10:54 a.m. Demetrius DeJuan Mitchell, 21, Terre Haute, was charged with possession of marijuana and reckless driving.

Tuesday

* At 1:30 p.m. Ruthan Lynnette Adams, 33, Danville, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

* At 1:25 p.m. Amber Dawn Bartley, 29, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for possession of paraphernalia.

* At 12:48 p.m. Jonathan Lamar Lockett, 26, Bloomington, was booked in on a Marion County warrant.

* At 12:45 p.m. Jacob Paul Gaddis, 19, Bainbridge, was charged with residential entry and criminal mischief.

* At 12:12 p.m. Jacob Nathaniel Scobee, 18, Rochdale, was arrested on a court order.

* At 9:53 a.m. Carey Kenneth Carr, 50, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail on a warrant for theft.

Monday

* At 4:59 p.m. Juston Thomas Younkin, 36, Lafayette, was taken into custody on a court order.

Saturday

* At 9:56 p.m. Michael Scott Dismukes, 52, Greencastle, was housed at the jail for operating while intoxicated.

* At 4:13 a.m. Cy David Stoltz, 22, Greencastle, was booked in for resisting law enforcement, battery on law enforcement, possession of paraphernalia and public intoxication.

* At 2:49 a.m. Jeffrey Carl Swanson, 33, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for operating while intoxicated-refusal.

City Police

Two alleged shoplifting incidents at Walmart were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 8:21 p.m. Tuesday, Lula Jean Dawson, 41, Indianapolis, was arrested by Officer Matt Huffman.

Dawson reportedly concealed $43 worth of make-up and beauty items in her purse without paying for them.

She was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a charge of theft.

* At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Amber Bartley, 29, Greencastle, was arrested by Sgt. Ed Wilson in another alleged shoplifting incident.

Bartley reportedly went through the self-checkout line and allegedly switched tags on some items to ring up lower costs.

The receipt total should have been $225, Sgt. Wilson reported.

Bartley was lodged in the Putnam County Jail on a charge of theft.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to two recent property-damage crashes.

* At 12:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Joseph A. Alcock, 30, Cloverdale, was southbound on State Road 243 near County Road 800 South in a 1986 Pontiac Fiero.

Deputy Mike Downing estimated damage at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 9:28 p.m. on Monday, Eric L. Kachelmeyer, 32, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 300 East just south of County Road 500 North in a 2010 Ford Fusion.

He told Deputy Riley Houghton he was traveling about 30 mph and didn't know there was a turn in the road.

As he approached the turn, he got caught in loose gravel and could not make the turn, leaving the road and hitting a utility pole.

The vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to four dispatches and one medical assist.

* At 1:11 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a motor-vehicle accident at 225 E. Washington St. GFD assisted in the cleanup of fluid and debris from the roadway before returning to station.

* At 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 413 S. Locust St.

* At 8:39 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 109 W. Hanna St.
