100 Women Who Care give with gratitude

Friday, October 21, 2016

The members of 100 Women Who Care (WWC) Putnam County are ready to learn about local nonprofit organizations to support with a charitable gift of a potential $10,000.

It takes 100 women to reach that $10,000 gift, and with four meetings a year that’s $40,000 going back to Putnam County.

Philanthropy and passion are what drives 100 WWC to thrive. It’s a time to come together, socialize, network, educate and simply give. During the events, women philanthropists of Putnam County meet other that share the same passion and desires for the nonprofit community.

If you are a woman looking for a simple way to help the community, then become one of 100 Women Who Care.

Group members meet four times a year for two hours to socialize and donate. At each meeting, any member may submit a local non-profit charity or government entity she would like to include in the drawing, which will randomly choose three submissions.

The member who included the organization will then give a short presentation about how the organization serves and what its needs might be. All members then vote on which organization to support. Total commitment is $500 divided five ways; $100 to the 100 WWC endowment, then $100 to each of the four organizations elected in February, May, August and November.

The next event is set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at The Inn at DePauw. For more information on becoming a member, visit www.pcfoundation.org or the 100 WWC Facebook page.
