PCPL to host technology sale

The Putnam County Public Library will host its first Technology Sale Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The event will be hosted with the help of the Friends of the Library and will include refurbished computers and peripheral devices for as little as $20. Other accessories are eReaders, routers, printers and keyboards.

“Like the ongoing FOL Book Sale, the Tech Sale is a great way for members of the community to acquire meaningful materials at very little cost,” Director Grier Carson said.

In other developments:

-- Hours of operation: The board unanimously approved the new hours of operation, which are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The new hours will take effect Jan. 2.

-- Silly Safari: Directer Grier Carson announced that Silly Safari, set for Dec. 21, will feature reindeer.

-- Personnel reports: The library is currently seeking a replacement for its marketing and communications manager and hopes to have one by January. The library is also seeking a technology assistant and plans to have one by the end of the year.

-- Absences: Vice President Diana LaViolette.

The next PCPL Board meeting will be Dec. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Kiwanis Conference Room.
