GIRLS

Cloverdale (4-2)

Saturday: vs. Eastern Greene

Game time: 1:30 p.m. at Cloverdale

History: Eastern Greene won 48-37 at home last year and has won the last four meetings.

Scouting report: The Thunderbirds are 2-2, defeating Oldenburg Academy 40-36 and Providence Cristo Rey 66-10 and losing 56-29 to Morristown and 52-35 to Trinity Lutheran. They will play at Owen Valley today.

Greencastle (3-4)

Tuesday: vs. Crawfordsville

Game time: 7:30 p.m. at Greencastle

History: Greencastle won 72-38 at home last year and has won the past two years.

Scouting report: The Athenians are 3-3, defeating Seeger 49-45 in overtime, North Putnam 47-30 and Turkey Run 47-44 and losing 64-19 to Tri-West, 57-35 to Southmont and 57-35 to North Montgomery. Sophomore Addie Laskowski and freshman Lauren Kellerman are the team’s leading scorers.

North Putnam (0-6)

Tuesday: at South Vermillion

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

History: South Vermillion won 57-52 and 55-49 last year and has won the last four meetings.

Scouting report: The Wildcats are 2-3, defeating North Central 65-49 and Seeger 47-26 and losing 56-42 to Edgewood, 51-40 to Clay City and 58-34 to Attica.

South Putnam (3-1)

Today: vs. Southmont

Game time: 7:30 p.m. at South Putnam

History: Southmont is new to the Eagles’ schedule, and the teams have not played recently.

Scouting report: The Mounties are 3-4, defeating Clinton Central 59-38, North Vermillion 63-15 and Crawfordsville 57-35. Southmont lost 39-38 to Tri-West, 53-43 to No. 3 Fountain Central and 55-51 to Greencastle.

BOYS

Cloverdale

Tuesday: vs. Illini Bluffs in Tournament of Champions at Washington, Ill.

Game time: 8:30 p.m. (CST)

Scouting report: Taylor Bruninga, a 6-foot-7 forward, is the top player for Illini Bluffs. He currently has scholarship offers from Wisconsin-Parkside, Winona State and Minnesota State-Moorhead. The team was 18-11 last year.

Cloverdale is ranked 16th in Class 2A and returns two of the state’s top returning scorers in Butler signee Cooper Neese (29.5) and Jalen Moore (18.8).

Greencastle

Tuesday: at Crawfordsville

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

History: Crawfordsville won 63-54 at Greencastle last year.

Scouting report: Colin York is the leading returning scorer for Greencastle at 12.5 points per game. The game marks the varsity head coaching debut of Greencastle’s Bryce Rector.

NOTE: Greencastle’s scheduled home opener with Danville was moved from Saturday to Nov. 29 due to the Warriors’ extended football season.

North Putnam

Wednesday: vs. Southmont

Game time: 7:30 p.m. at North Putnam

History: Southmont won 79-43 at Crawfordsville last year and has won the last two seasons.

Scouting report: Southmont was 10-13 last year, and its leading scorer was 6-3 sophomore Cam Chadd at 18.9 points per game. Junior Andrew Travers averaged eight points per game last year.

South Putnam

Tuesday: at Clay City

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

History: Clay City won 47-40 at South Putnam last year and has won two straight years.

Scouting report: Clay City was 9-15 last year and graduated starters Hunter Wolfe, Noah Denker and Travis Strauch. South Putnam is led by 6-5 sophomore Allen Plunkett, the state’s fourth-leading freshman scorer last year.
