Park sets Holiday Gingerbread House contest

The Greencastle Parks and Recreations Department will conduct its Holiday Gingerbread House/Brickmania Santa’s Sled Contest with judging at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 at Greencastle City Hall, 1 N. Locust St.

The event is free and open to the public.

All entries must be made out of edible ingredients, house and decorations, while all Brickmania entries need to use Lego or other building blocks, as competitors are challenged to build their interpretation of “Santa’s Sled.”

All entries must also be carried into City Hall on either Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. or Thursday, Dec. 1 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Entries will be displayed all day and judged at the outset of the monthly park board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Awards will be given to first and second places in three divisions: Individual, Family and Organization. Judging and awards will take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec 1.

Registration forms, available at City Hall, the Putnam County Public Library and Greencastle Pediatric Dentistry DDS, carry a complete set of rules.
