Vance Allen Abney, 46, of Rockville, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 25, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1970 in Crawfordsville to Dewey (Dude) Abney and Sheryl (Sherry) Johnson Green.

Vance attended North Putnam High School.

He loved to ride his motorcycle and working at Greencastle Custom Cycles, Baker's Camp Taxidermy, hunting with his kids and loving his family.

He was a member of the Bainbridge Christian Church.

He is survived by his father, Dewey (Dude) Abney, and stepmother Jenny Harrison; his mother, Sherry, and stepfather Gerry Green; his sons, Dakoda (Jordon) Abney and Klay Abney; his daughter, Taegan Abney; his girlfriend, Tammy Irwin; his brothers, John and Clint Abney; and a sister, Wanda Summers.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Edith Norton.

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Roachdale Christian Church Life Center with visitation from 11 a.m-2 p.m. Burial will be in Roachdale Cemetery. Pastor Kurt Berger will officiate.

Per Vance's request, all motorcycle riders are welcome to ride to the cemetery as one final ride in Vance's memory.
