Neese to pass Jeff Blue

The 53-point game by Cloverdale's Cooper Neese on Saturday put him into two ties for historical Putnam County records.

Neese raised his career scoring total to 1,798 points, and is now tied with 1960 Bainbridge graduate Jeff Blue for Putnam County career scoring honors.

With his first point in Tuesday night's 7:30 p.m. home game against North Central, Neese will become the county's all-time scoring leader.

The scoring output also tied Neese with fellow Clover standout Rick Ford, who scored 53 points in a game against Eminence on Nov. 1, 1966. Ford had 19 field goals and 15 free throws in that game, plus more than 30 rebounds.
