DePauw wins pair in hoops
Claire Ryan notched a career-high 20 points as DePauw moved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 69-43 win over Wittenberg on Wednesday night.
‘The visiting Tigers dropped to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
DePauw came out strong, scoring the first eight points and eventually taking an 18-3 lead with 4:44 left in the opening stanza as it hit eight of its first nine field goal tries. The hosts headed to the quarter break with a 23-7 lead.
Wittenberg closed the gap to nine on a couple of occasions in the second period, but DePauw finished the half on a 6-0 run to take a 36-21 advantage into the intermission.
DePauw travels to Wooster on Saturday for a 1 p.m. NCAC game.

Luke Lattner scored a game-high 19 points thanks to a 12-of-13 performance from the foul line.
Jack VandeMerkt was two points shy of a double-double with eight points and 11 rebounds. Nate Jahn scored a career-high 12 points, and Cris Burrough added 10.
DePauw (3-4, 1-1) holds a 12-11 all-time series record, and goes to Wooster on Saturday.
