GIRLS

Today

Greencastle (5-6, 1-0) at South Putnam (7-1, 1-0)

Game time: 6 p.m.

So far: The Tiger Cubs have lost two of their last three games, but the six teams to defeat them are a combined 41-13. South Putnam’s only loss came 53-35 to Greencastle in the championship game of the Putnam County tournament.

History: Greencastle has won the last five meetings between the teams.

Scouting report: Post players Claire Gillen and Nailah Ray have been the leading scorers for the Tiger Cubs, while the Eagles are led by juniors Miranda Bieghler and Lily Stein and sophomore Aubrey Barker.

Indian Creek (3-7, 0-2) at Cloverdale (7-3, 0-1)

Game time: 6 p.m.

So far: Cloverdale has lost to Riverton Parke, South Putnam and Edgewood. Indian Creek’s wins have come over Monrovia (75-43), Edinburgh (64-52) and Hauser (48-45).

History: The teams have not played recently. This is Indian Creek’s first year in the Western Indiana Conference.

Scouting report: Sophomore center Tori Combs had a double-double in her team’s last game with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman forward Sammie Shrum, freshman guard Hailey Thomas, junior guard Abby Walker and senior forward Kelsey Helterbrand have also been among the team’s top statistical leaders..

Sullivan (1-8, 0-1) at North Putnam (0-9, 0-1)

Game time: 6 p.m.

So far: Sullivan’s only win came 36-32 over Washington on Nov. 18. The Arrows have lost five straight and have only scored above 38 points once.

History: The teams have not played recently. This is the first year for North Putnam to be in the Western Indiana Conference West Division.

Scouting report: Senior guard Aleah Duncan and junior guard Mia Runnels have frequently led the Cougars in scoring. Freshman Regan Holeman leads Sullivan in scoring at 9.7 points per game, while senior Ashley Duvall adds 8.2 per game.

BOYS

Today

Greencastle (0-3, 0-1) at South Putnam (2-2, 1-0)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: The Tiger Cubs have struggled in the scoring column, averaging just 34.7 points per game. They have lost to Crawfordsville, Danville and West Vigo — teams that are a combined 8-0 this year.

South Putnam also defeated North Putnam and Turkey Run, and has lost to Clay City and Bethesda Christian.

History: Greencastle won 63-32 at home last year and has won the past four games between the teams..

Scouting report: Sophomore center Allen Plunkett is among the top scorers for South Putnam. Junior guard Colin York has led the Tiger Cubs in scoring in each game and averages 11.7 points per game. Seniors Nick Costin (6.3) and J.T. Matthews (5.7) are the next two scoring leaders.

Indian Creek (2-1, 1-0) at Cloverdale (2-2, 0-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: Cloverdale has defeated Illini Bluffs and North Central (Farmersburg), while losing to Edgewood and Southmont.

Indian Creek has defeated Edinburgh and Owen Valley, while losing to Oldenburg Academy.

History: The teams have not played recently. This is Indian Creek’s first year in the WIC.

Scouting report: Cloverdale’s Cooper Neese averages 36.5 points per game and is the state scoring leader. Jalen Moore ranks 17th in the state at 22.5.

Senior Tim Abel leads the Braves in scoring at 23.3 points per game, while senior Bryce Hogue averages 17.7 and junior Jared Dehart 16.0.

Sullivan (0-3, 0-1) at North Putnam (1-3, 0-1)

Game time: 7:30 p.m.

So far: Sullivan has lost to South Knox (44-40), Northview (67-58) and Shakamak (56-53). North Putnam lost its first three games, and picked up its first win on Tuesday over Eminence.

History: The teams have not played recently.

Scouting report: Senior guard Preston Porter has led the Cougars in scoring in the past two games, including a 25-point game on Tuesday in a win over Eminence. Junior Elliot Gross led the team in scoring in its first two games, while junior Treyton Smith had his best game of the year on Tuesday with 16 points.

Ty Drake paces Sullivan with 14.3 points per game, while Trey Powell adds 10.7 and Evan Conner 9.0.

Saturday

Southmont (4-0) at South Putnam

Game time: 7:30 p.m. at South Putnam

So far: The Mounties have defeated two Putnam County teams (North Putnam and Cloverdale), in addition to Turkey Run and North Montgomery. They have a tough Sagamore Conference game tonight at Danville.

History: Southmont won 57-39 last year in New Market and has won the last nine meetings between the two teams.

Scouting report: Junior guard Cam Chadd leads Southmont with 20.8 points per game, while senior center Kaleb Swick averages 19.0.

Cloverdale vs. Park Tudor (1-1)

Game time: 4 p.m. at Southport High School in the Forum TipOff Classic.

So far: Park Tudor has played just two games, defeating University 60-43 and losing 47-35 to Lawrence North. The Panthers are under new coach Michael Shelton, after previous coach Kyle Cox was imprisoned.

History: The teams played in 1999 and 2000, with the Panthers winning both games.

Scouting report: Senior guard Koby Webster is one of the top Park Tudor scorers.
