City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three dispatches.

• At 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, GFD assisted the Jefferson Twp. Fire Department with a mutual-aid fire alarm at 4461 E. County Road 700 South. The fire only turned out to involve only a small shed and was extinguished quickly by the two departments.

• At 5:53 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 106 Spring St.

• At 7:54 a.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 110 E. Larrabee St. The alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily due to dust caused by nearby construction. GFD subsequently reset the alarm and returned to station.
