Cloverdale $400K in the black
CLOVERDALE -- Clerk-Treasurer Cheryl Galloway reported that Cloverdale is ahead by $455,152.35 this year during the recent special meeting of the Cloverdale Town Council.
“With all of the funds combined, we’re ahead,” Clerk-Treasurer Galloway said. “We’re down from 2015, where were ahead by $8,374 more than what we have this year. But we spent $40,000 on that land. So I think we’re doing really well, and we’ll just keep on going forward.”
“Bravo,” Council Vice President Don Sublett responded. “Bravo.”
The council later approved Resolution 2016-22, which authorized the transfer of an unused $102,007.90 in appropriations to the rainy day fund.
In other developments:
-- Officer Luke Brown: Interim Marshal Charlie Hallam reported that Officer Brown would return to duty this week. Officer Brown suffered injuries three weeks ago when Jeffrey Hunter allegedly shot him with a shotgun.
-- Claims: The council approved claims at a total of $111,612.51, a decrease from last month of $288,424.93 and of $176,812.42 from the year’s average ($288,424.93 per month).
-- Visitors Bureau: The council approved the appointment of Beau Baird to the Putnam County Visitors Bureau.
-- Comp Time: The council approved paying compensation time for Interim Marshal Hallam and Officer Brown in the total amount of $20,993.08.
-- E. coli Treatment: Town Manager Wayne Galloway announced that a special meeting to receive bids for the purchase and installation of a new UV E. coli treatment system on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Cloverdale Town Hall.
The next Cloverdale Town Council meeting will be Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Cloverdale Town Hall.
