County Jail

Eight people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Wednesday

• At 3:48 p.m. Geri Danyel Capps, 27, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a warrant.

• At 2:21 p.m. Crystal Gail Morphey-Costin, 37, Greencastle, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 10:33 a.m. Johnny Alexander Snyder, 38, Cloverdale, was booked in on a local warrant.

Tuesday

• At 11:36 p.m. Amanda Michael Gregg, 28, Rockville, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 4:04 p.m. Jon Russell Kennedy, 50, Cloverdale, was taken into custody on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 1 p.m. Desiree Lynn Agee, 29, homeless, was arrested for theft, resisting law enforcement and criminal mischief.

• At 11:49 a.m. Daniel Lamont, 26, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail for possession of marijuana.

• At 8:40 a.m. Michael Jo Cagle, 57, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

A 23-year-old Greencastle man is facing four drug-related charges following a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon by City Police.

• At 2:24 p.m. Kyle Andrew Kelly was stopped by Officer Kyle Lee at South Street and Woodhaven Drive on the city southeast side.

Arrested and lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Kelly is facing charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia as well as being arrest on a separate Putnam County warrant for theft of a firearm.

Meanwhile, two local drivers were cited recently by Greencastle officers.

• At 9:32 p.m. Monday, Jacob Skinner, 43, Greencastle, was stopped on Martinsville Street by Sgt. Eric Vaughan.

Skinner was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense and for a false or fictitious registration.

• At 10:43 p.m. Saturday, Jeremiah Bridges, 38, Greencastle, received a pair of citations from Capt. Charles Inman.

Stopped on South Jackson Street, Bridges was ticketed for operating an off-road vehicle on a highway or roadway and for having no off-road vehicle registration as required.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

• At 2:16 p.m. on Thursday, Joyce M. Ray, 82, Poland, was westbound on State Road 240 just west of County Road 650 East in a 2007 Buick Terraza. Justin L. Martin, 25, Rockville, was eastbound in a 2012 Kia Soul.

Lt. Donnie Pettit repored that for unknown reasons, Ray crossed left of center, sideswiping Martin’s vehicle.

Ray told officers she did not realize she hit another vehicle.

Martin said he swerved right but could not avoid the collision.

Pettit was assisted by Deputy Elizabeth Campbell and Greencastle Officer Darrel Bunten.

Ray’s vehicle was towed. Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three dispatches.

• At 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm but was disregarded while en route 750 S. Fillmore Rd.

• At 6:38 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 109 W. Hanna St.

• At 8:03 a.m. on Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 106 Spring St.
