The end of 2016 brought with it the end of a partnership of local contractors that has lasted more than a quarter century.

KEITH HUTCHESON of Criss & Hutcheson General Contractors recently announced his retirement, thus ending his partnership of more than 25 years with Tony Criss.

“I want to thank all of my customers who have made it a great ride,” Hutcheson said in a Facebook post announcing the decision. “I have enjoyed the trade that my grandpa and dad taught me and have taken pride in the quality work that the company has provided.”

Hutcheson went on to thank the various businesses, contractors and subcontractors he was able to work with over the years.

“Most of all to the guys (employees) who have worked with me, couldn’t have done it without you,” Hutcheson wrote.

As Hutcheson moves on with his retirement, Criss will continue providing service as Criss Contstruction.

Sheila Brinkman

Putnamville Correctional Facility and Superintendent Brian Smith have announced the promotion of secretary SHEILA BRINKMAN to the superintendent’s secretary.

Brinkman started her career as a mental health clerk for Corizon and moved into a Secretary 3 position in January 2015 where she assisted Assistant Superintendent Tim Phegley and Major Harley Crabb.

She worked for the Indiana University medical center through the 1980s as a patient accounts assistant supervisor and has experience in childcare.

She will now be the eyes and ears for Superintendent Smith.

“It takes great time management, organization, confidentiality and patience to be in the position that Ms. Brinkman has been promoted to,” Smith said. “She is deserving of this assignment and I have faith that she will do great things.”

Hoosier Heartland State Bank recently welcomed JEFF WILLIAMS as an ag and commercial loan officer. Williams graduated with a BS in agriculture from Purdue University and majored in agricultural mechanization.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Jeff joining our team,” Trent Smaltz of HHSB said. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge about a variety of elements within the Ag industry to our strong team of specialists.”

Williams has spent the past 36 years in sales management positions working for large, international manufacturers active in agricultural, power generation and industrial market segments. Prior to joining the bank, Williams worked for CNH Industrial as director of commercial sales for the Fiat Powertrain Technology Division.

“I am very happy to have joined an organization with such a positive culture, truly committed to serving the local community,” Williams said. “I hope to become a trusted friend and adviser to the customers I serve.”

Williams and wife Diana have two children, Seth and Hannah, and are moving back to their family farm in northern Putnam County, in the Brick Chapel area.

When not working for customers and community, Williams focuses down time on family and church. He also enjoys playing golf and outdoor activities.

“While I am still getting reconnected with the community here, I am already enjoying the time I can spend working outdoors around the farm once again,” Williams said.

Williams can be contacted at 765-323-4500 or jwilliams@myhhsb.com.
