Marjorie "Marge" Lou Perry, 85, of Waveland, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 7, 2017 at Saint Elizabeth East in Lafayette, Ind.

She was born March 13, 1931 at Morton in Putnam County to the late Roy and Martha (Maddox) Detro.

On March 20, 1949 in Russellville, she married James H. Perry. Jim passed away Nov. 15, 2010.

Marge attended Bainbridge High School. She was a housewife and a waitress most of her life. She thoroughly enjoyed working and serving at several places in the community, including Turkey Run Inn, Vance's Café, The Y Palace, Vi's Bellmore Café and Brenda's Kitchen.

After retiring she enjoyed being a greeter at Russellville Community Church where she was a member. She would always give anyone a hug. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her three children, Yvonne (Mike) Simpson, Waveland, Douglas (Nettie) Perry, Hawaii, and Teresa (Mike) Perry Peacock, Russellville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at Russellville Community Church, 103 Third St., Russellville, with Pastor Allen Small officiating. Burial will follow in Russellville Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 4-8 p.m. at the church.
